The foundation of The Last Witch Hunter is unique in Hollywood; the protagonist, Kaulder, is based directly on Vin Diesel’s personal Dungeons & Dragons character, a Witch Hunter named Melkor. Diesel, a lifelong fan of the tabletop game, worked with screenwriter Cory Goodman to adapt his character's lore into a cinematic universe.
